House System

The MGS House System: Unity, Identity, and Inspiration

At MGS, every student belongs to one of our four houses Kartini, Tagore, Lincoln, and Tolstoy — each named after influential figures who embody courage, wisdom, and leadership. This house system is more than just a way to organize students; it’s a vibrant part of our school culture that fosters connection, pride, and personal growth.

Being part of a house gives students a sense of identity and belonging from their very first day. It encourages teamwork across year levels, builds friendships beyond the classroom, and creates opportunities for healthy competition in academics, sports, and the arts. Through house events and challenges, students learn to lead, support one another, and celebrate shared achievements.

The house system also helps instill values inspired by its namesakes, Kartini’s advocacy for education, Tagore’s creativity and compassion, Lincoln’s integrity and perseverance, and Tolstoy’s commitment to truth and humanity. These ideals guide our students as they grow into thoughtful, confident individuals ready to make a difference.
